A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a
separate benefit plan that allows you to
direct a part of your pay, tax free,
into a special account that you can use
throughout the year to reimburse
yourself for certain eligible
out-of-pocket expenses. In the
Avenues FSA, you can
deduct up to $7,500 per year for health care each year.
An FSA is totally funded through
payroll deduction. Avenues
provides no funds for this purpose.
Please remember that any amount
designated during the calendar year must
be used during the year or it will be
forfeited. Your total expenditure
is limited to what you put in during the
year.
Currently, the only types of Flexible Spending Accounts
in the Avenues plan includes health related out-of-pocket
expenses.
To be eligible, employees must have
completed 12 active months of employment
with Avenues.
